Introducing New Artists, New, Single Releases

Introducing: GESS and his new single “Dignity” with SXMSON – Watch the music video!

Eddie Gessford, better known by his stage name GESS, is a singer, songwriter and producer based in L.A.

He released his debut single “Spilled Milk” in 2018, followed up by his first EP “Plastic City” that same year, in collaboration with music producer MCMC.

His music being a mix of alternative RnB with heavy beats, pop melodies, and often a dance undertone is the perfect recipe that combined with his sensual vocals makes him a force to be reckoned with and a star in the rising.

Being a hard worker, he continued releasing new music from 2018 through 2020 with several of his releases consisting of collaborations with Drag Race All-Star Winner Shea Couleé.

He also released another EP during quarantine, titled “Psyche”, featuring 3 new songs.

His last release of 2020 was the single “Imposter” that he was featured on, alongside indie-pop artist Boys Untitled. An official music video to the song was also released in January 2021, directed by Felipe Nogueira.

Now, GESS is continuing his musical journey with the release of his brand new single “Dignity”.

The track is a collaborative effort of GESS with London-based musician and songwriter SXMSON. This dark RnB bop explores the theme of a toxic relationship and unrequited love that leads one to total humiliation.

According to GESS:

“Dignity is a story of sacrifice. It’s about being willing to give up your Dignity in order to be with a partner that is so clearly wrong for you.”

On his collaboration with GESS, SXMSON commented:

“It was a pleasure to write and feature on this project with GESS. From the second I heard Dignity I was obsessed with the song’s theme surrounding toxic love. It was important to capture the same rawness and honesty that was found in GESS’s lyrics when writing my own verse. Writing from a more vulnerable space was super refreshing for me and I am so thankful for how the song now is.”

The official music video of the song made its premiere yesterday, directed by Aaron Adrian.
