Addison Rae Faces the Spotlight on New Single “Fame Is a Gun”
As anticipation builds for her upcoming debut album “Addison”, Addison Rae has delivered one final preview with her brand-new single, “Fame Is a Gun”. Out now alongside a stylized, retro-tinged video directed by indie filmmaker Sean Price Williams, the track blends shimmering synth-pop production with raw introspection, a trademark Rae is rapidly making her own.

In the video, Rae dons a platinum wig and oversized sunglasses, performing at a decadent dinner party like a pop-noir heroine straight from a Lynchian dreamscape. Flanked by two dancers, she leans into the performative glamour and theatricality the song interrogates.
Produced by pop powerhouses ELVIRA (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Anne-Marie) and Luka Kloser (Ariana Grande, Tate McRae, Gwen Stefani), who also co-wrote the track with Rae herself, “Fame Is a Gun” is both a declaration and a warning. The lyrics trace Rae’s hunger for stardom, and the toll that comes with it. “Tell me who I am / Do I provoke you with my tone of innocence?” she sings in the opening verse, inviting scrutiny while setting boundaries. It’s a reflection of her own rise from TikTok stardom to mainstream media darling.
“Fame Is a Gun” marks the fifth and final single from “Addison”, which drops June 6th. The track follows a string of glossy and critically buzzed singles including “Diet Pepsi”, “Aquamarine”, “High Fashion”, and “Headphones On”.
The full-length album will follow Rae’s 2023 EP “AR”, a release that introduced audiences to her distinctive blend of Y2K nostalgia, sleek production, and confessional lyricism — including a notable collaboration with Charli XCX.
In a recent interview, Rae described her debut album as “a look in the mirror at myself… an optimistic approach to the hard times in life,” explaining that the music is both experimental and intuitive, guided by lyrics first and foremost.
