JADE Unpacks Jealousy with New Single “Plastic Box”
UK singer-songwriter JADE continues her solo breakthrough with the release of her latest single “Plastic Box”, a synth-laced pop confessional that grapples with insecurity and emotional baggage.

Out now via RCA, the track offers another glimpse into her highly anticipated debut album “THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!”, arriving September 12th.

Co-written with GRADES and Lauren Aquilina and co-produced by Oscar Görres (aka OZGO) — known for his work with Troye Sivan, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande — “Plastic Box” reveals a more vulnerable side of the BRIT Award-winning pop star. JADE’s distinctive voice floats over sparkling production, as she reflects on the quiet, irrational jealousy that can surface in relationships.
“Plastic Box is about that irrational and toxic insecurity within us when we think about our partner’s previous relationships, even though we know everyone has a past,” JADE shares. “It’s a happy-sad pop song and one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written.”
The track follows a streak of critically praised singles including “Fantasy”, “IT girl”, “FUFN”, and “Midnight Cowboy”, narrated by actor Ncuti Gatwa. Her debut solo release “Angel Of My Dreams” became an instant hit, racking up over 100 million streams and peaking at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also earned her a nomination for Best Contemporary Song at the Ivor Novello Awards.
JADE’s forthcoming album promises a genre-spanning experience rooted in pop tradition while charging ahead into new sonic territory. Collaborators include hitmakers Mike Sabath, Lostboy, Cirkut, RAYE, and Pablo Bowman, cementing “THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!” as one of 2024’s most anticipated pop releases.
With “Plastic Box”, JADE once again proves she isn’t afraid to tackle the messier parts of love — packaging raw emotion into a shimmering pop gem.
