KATSEYE Unleash Their New Single “Gabriela”
Emerging (k)pop sensation KATSEYE is back with a fiery new single, “Gabriela”, an infectious Latin-tinged R&B-pop track that blends emotional vulnerability with cinematic flair.

Released June 20th, the single is the second from their upcoming EP “Beautiful Chaos” (out June 27th), and is already making waves thanks to a bold, high-drama music video starring none other than Jessica Alba.

Produced by hitmakers Andrew Watt (Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa) and John Ryan (Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter), and co-written by a powerhouse team including Charli XCX and Ali Tamposi, “Gabriela” explores themes of obsession, insecurity, and rivalry, all wrapped in a hypnotic melody. The song’s chorus, partly sung in Spanish by Cuban member Daniela, honors Latin culture while pulling listeners deep into the emotional core of the track.
But it’s the music video, directed by Andrew Thomas Huang (Björk, FKA Twigs, Kelela) that elevates the concept to another level. Channeling full-blown telenovela energy, the visual sees the six members, Lara, Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Megan, embroiled in over-the-top boardroom battles to become the successor to CEO Jessica Alba. “We were able to step into characters and make fun of the fan fiction that pits us against each other,” Manon said. The result? Food fights, mannequin warfare, and a hilarious fever-dream finale that’s already earned the video over 1 million views in its first 24 hours.
The track itself was once a demo meant for Rita Ora and Anitta back in 2019, but after it was scrapped, it found new life in KATSEYE’s hands. The group confirmed during a recent Weverse livestream that it would appear on their sophomore EP “Beautiful Chaos”, alongside previous single “Gnarly” and upcoming tracks “Gameboy”, “Mean Girls”, and “M.I.A”.
Described by fans as “Gen Z’s answer to Jolene”, “Gabriela” marks a bold artistic turn for the group, one that embraces layered storytelling, cultural fusion, and vocal growth. As Sophia put it: “We’re telling each other, ‘Hands off! This is my thing,’ but we can’t do our thing without the other person. It’s six or nothing.”
