Leigh-Anne Rises Again With Fierce New Single “Dead and Gone”
After weeks of teasing, Leigh-Anne has finally dropped her long-awaited single “Dead and Gone”, and it’s everything fans hoped for and more. For those of us who’ve had the snippet on repeat, the full release feels like a liberation.
The track marks yet another evolution for the British singer-songwriter, who continues to redefine herself in her solo era. “Dead and Gone” captures the essence of Leigh-Anne’s alter-ego, a fearless, fiery version of herself that emerged through both her visuals and sound. “This fierce alter-ego is the person I had to become to be able to navigate the treacherous musical road as a solo artist,” she explained in a press release.

Blending reggae undertones with R&B smoothness, the track delivers a rhythmic punch and lyrical depth. The opening lines “There’s a fire in the sky burning holes through an innocent soul / And the smoke goes black” set a haunting tone for a song about transformation and rebirth. As Leigh-Anne puts it, “‘Dead and Gone’ is about letting go of the version of yourself that no longer serves you — the one that plays nice, stays quiet, and hides her fire.”
Written by Leigh-Anne alongside Clarence Coffee Jr., Zhone, and Owen Cutts, the track proves she’s carving out her own lane. Hours after its release, she dropped an accompanying visualizer that feels more like a cinematic experience than a simple video. Featuring two contrasting Leigh-Annes, one in green and the other in blazing red, the visuals embody the song’s core theme: destruction and rebirth. The red-eyed Leigh-Anne exudes raw power, while her green counterpart mirrors control and grace.
“Dead and Gone” follows the singer’s earlier singles “Been a Minute” and “Burning Up”, both teasing her forthcoming debut album “My Ego Told Me To”, arriving February 20th, 2026. Leigh-Anne describes the project as her most personal work yet, one that reveals who she’s become after years of artistic searching. “This record is me stripping some of those layers away and just being open about my story,” she said in a recent interview. “It’s scary, but I hope it allows people to come into my world more.”

Fans can also look forward to seeing her bring this new era to life on stage: Leigh-Anne will embark on a European and U.K. tour next spring in support of “My Ego Told Me To”.
With “Dead and Gone”, Leigh-Anne proves once again that she’s not just surviving the transition from girl group star to solo artist; she’s thriving in it. Bold, self-assured, and creatively unleashed, she’s ready to show the world who she really is.
