Camila Cabello returns with brand new single “Don’t Go Yet” and announces new album.
Camila Cabello has been working hard on writing new music these past two 2 years, after the release of her sophomore album “Romance”, which spawned the singles “Liar”, “Shameless” and “First Man” among others.
Now, the talented singer has announced the title of her third official studio album, which will be “Familia”. The album will be released via Epic and Columbia records, while the release date still remains unknown.
The new era was preceded by the release of the lead single “Don’t Go Yet”, which dropped along with the album’s announcement.
The Latin pop track was written by Camila alongside Ricky Reed, Scott Harris, and Mike Sabath. Reed (Lizzo, Halsey, Jason Derulo, The Weeknd) and Sabath (Little Mix, Meghan Trainor, Liam Payne, Zara Larsson) also handled its production.
Talking about her new song she stated:
“I think ‘Don’t Go Yet’ is just I think sonically and melodically, just me being free. I think being in Miami for so long and having more family around me and speaking Spanish more made me feel, I don’t know, just kind of brought me back. I think my roots went deeper in a way that I really needed. And I think this album for me was a manifestation. The name of my album is ‘Familia’.”
An official music video was premiered along with the song featuring several of her real family members such as her dad, sister and cousin. The video was directed by Philippa Price (Rihanna, Pharell, BANKS, Miguel) and Pilar Zeta (Coldplay) and also features a cameo by Rupaul’s Drag Race alumni Valentina.
