Doja Cat premieres new collaboration “You Right” with The Weeknd and releases studio album.
Doja Cat is lately on fire and heavy on the promotion of her brand new album “Planet Her” – one of the most anticipated of the year, released this past Friday via RCA Records and featuring collaborations with Young Thug and Ariana Grande among others.
The promotion of her new project began in April with the release of the lead single “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA – a major bop from outer space.
A couple of months later she released the promotional single “Need To Know” along with an intergalactic music video that features a cameo appearance by Grimes.
The talented singer now celebrates the release of her third studio album by dropping a music video for the second official single “You Right” which features none other than The Weeknd.
Both artists had previously collaborated in 2020 for a remix version of The Weeknd’s “In Your Eyes”.
“You Right” was written by both artists and Lukasz Gottwald, with the latter also handling its production.
The Weeknd was initially planned to appear on another track but as she stated:
“We played him one song, and we thought it was the perfect song but it ended up not working. Then he heard this other song but it had already been finished with two verses, but he was obsessed with it.”
The official music video of the song was directed by Quentin Deronzier (PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kanye West, Will Smith) – and heavily inspired by the zodiac astrology and specifically by the Libran – depicting Doja and The Weeknd almost godlike flirting with each other.
A highlight on the album and also one of her best music videos so far that sets the bar even higher – you don’t want to miss it!
