Adele returns with brand new single “Easy On Me” & announces new album!
Adele is finally making a long-anticipated comeback six years after the release of her last studio album “25”, which topped the charts all over the world.
The more-than-talented singer announced the release of her new song “Easy On Me” as the lead single off her fourth studio album “30” which is set for release on November 19th via Columbia Records. Following several teasers on social media that hinted to the release of new music, she finally confirmed the rumors with an official statement last week. She also revealed the album’s artwork, though the tracklisting is yet to be announced. So far we know that the new project will contain at least 12 songs, according to iTunes.
“Easy On Me” is a powerful and emotional piano ballad served in true Adele-style, in which she sings about her fraught childhood, her lost marriage and the lessons learnt and unlearnt regarding family, love and abandonment along the way.
The track was written by Adele in collaboration with Greg Kurstin (Kelly Clarkson, Sia, P!nk, Halsey, ZAYN, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar), who also handled its production.
The single was released today along with an official music video directed by Xavier Dolan with whom she had previously collaborated on the iconic music video of her previous single “Hello”.
