Anastacia covers Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”.
Anastacia is undoubtedly worldwide one of the most unique and solid voices of all time, backed up by a lot of sass, an adamant character and a fighter’s spirit.
Having an amazing career of 20 years and counting, she has released a total of 7 studio albums and 28 singles, all of which climbed high up the charts and even topped them.
Her latest album “Evolution” was released back in 2017 spawning the single “Caught in the Middle” and gathering positive reviews.
The talented singer has been working on new music since then and though she may not have hinted at a new project yet, she did surprise us with the release of a new song.
Being not just a powerful voice but also a woman, Anastacia joined a whole group of independent and confident women, who united their voices for a common purpose.
Under the roof of record label Decca Records and in partnership with the global multi-platform edutainment brand Rebel Girls, the album “Good Night Songs for Rebel Girls” was just released, featuring covers of both contemporary and historic singles that transcend genre and geography by a diverse group of female singer-songwriters, meant to empower and uplift girls around the world through music.
On choosing to cover Kelly Clarkson‘s 2011 hit single “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” Anastacia stated:
“I chose the song “Stronger” originally sung by Kelly Clarkson, who by the way is a total rebel girl… Slowing it down makes you focus on the words even more. The power of what the words say, the delivery of the message changed dramatically from just this super powerful, stronger song where your hands are clenching and your fists are tight, to kind of this lullaby, beautiful version… A real challenge that I really wanted to take on.”
The album also features covers from other great female artists such as Joan Jett, Macy Gray, KT Tunstall, and Aurora, with unique takes on songs such as “Beautiful” originally by Christina Aguilera, “Thank U” by Alanis Morissette, “Girl On Fire” by Alicia Keys and “Jóga” by Björk.
