This vibrant track marks Kehlani’s first solo release since their highly acclaimed 2022 album, “Blue Water Road”.

Produced by Khris Riddick and Alex Goldblatt, “After Hours” encapsulates the essence of freedom and exhilaration, drawing inspiration from the pulsating beats of Cordel Burrell‘s classic Coolie Dance Rhythm famously sampled in Nina Sky‘s 2004 hit, “Move Ya Body”.

The sultry dance anthem, penned by Kehlani alongside Khristopher Riddick-Tynes, Alex Goldblatt, Daniel Upchurch, Diovanna Frazier, and Cordel Burrell, delivers a euphoric fusion of rhythm and lyricism. Kehlani’s smooth vocals glide effortlessly over the infectious melody, creating an irresistible urge to hit the dance floor. With lyrics like “We don’t gotta take it slow, I’ma hit the gas if you’re ready to go,” Kehlani captures the essence of that exhilarating rush of falling in love amidst the pulsating rhythm of the night.

In a recent interview, Kehlani expressed their desire to infuse their art with positivity and vitality, especially in the wake of global challenges. “Coming out of this pandemic to global tragedy to global tragedy to global tragedy, I was like I’m not really in a space to make something that feels super jarring or super sad,” they explained. “I’m very outspoken about these things, but I want my art to provide some kind of life and fun. I wanna hear this outside and I wanna feel good.”

Get ready to lose yourself in the rhythm and embrace the euphoria of “After Hours” as Kehlani invites you to join them on a journey of liberation and celebration.
