The Weeknd collaborates with Ariana Grande on remix version of “Save Your Tears”.
The Weeknd is still riding on the success of his fourth studio album “After Hours” released back in March of 2020.
The album managed to reach the top spot in several top spots while at the same time it spawned 4 hit singles.
The album’s lead single “Heartless” was released in November of 2019 and became his fourth song to top the Billboard charts.
It was then proceeded by “Blinding Lights” which became a huge success after it topped the charts in more than 22 countries, making it his most successful single to date and one of the most played songs of 2020.
“In Your Eyes” was then released as the third official single, while a while later 2 remix versions of the song were released: one featuring Kenny G on soprano saxophone and one with Doja Cat on vocals.
Last but not least, “Save Your Tears” was released in the summer of 2020 with an accompanying music video that was described as controversial due to its raw and violent content.
Now, the talented artist is revamping the song by releasing a remix version featuring none other than long-time friend and collaborator Ariana Grande.
Both artists had previously collaborated on Ariana’s hit single “Love Me Harder” in 2014 and on “off the table” featured on her latest album.
The track was written by The Weeknd and Ariana, alongside Max Martin, Oscar Holter, DaHeala, and Belly. The Weeknd handled also its production together with Max Martin (Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry), DaHeala (SZA, French Montana, Lil Uzi), and Oscar Holter (Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Demi Lovato, JoJo, Tove Lo).
An animated music video was released along the single, directed by Jack Brown.
