Brazilian singer Anitta is getting ready to take the music world by storm with the release of her debut US album to be released in the coming months via Warner Records.

The talented singer has already 4 studio albums in her resume and many of her songs have gained international recognition due to her social media popularity and of course due to her collaboration with international music stars such as Major Lazer, Maluma, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea, the Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg and others.

She recently kicked off the promotion of her new era with the release of the first official single “Me Gusta” – a funk carioca/pagode, upbeat song that features Cardi B and Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers.

The track was written by all three artists together with RDD, Messiah, Chibatinha, Mauricio Rengifo, Andrés Torres, GALE and Ryan Tedder. The latter also handled its production alongside Rengifo, RDD and Torres.

About her collaboration with Cardi B she stated:

“I was so grateful I said to her, I told her, ‘Hey, thank you so much.’ She doesn’t know how much it represents to our country. I know Brazil is a Latin country, but it’s different because the other countries, they speak Spanish. Brazil speaks Portuguese so it makes very different culturally talking for us to mix countries because we communicate differently. So bringing the Brazilian culture to the world is something, I don’t know, I would never be able to pay back all of this she’s doing.”

Along with the new single an official music video was also released, featuring all three artists, filmed in Salvador, Bahia by Daniel Russel (Khalid, Normani, Jason Derulo, SZA, Justin Timberlake).

Serving fashion, dance moves and Afro-Brazilian culture she makes a statement: she is not here to play.
