New, Single Releases

Evanescence release brand new video for “Better Without You”.

Evanescence have finally released their brand new album of all-original material after 10 years and it has been worth the wait, to say the least!

“The Bitter Truth” was officially released on March 26th through BMG to critical acclaim and climbing the top of the charts in more than 32 countries around the world.

The album’s promotion began last year with the release of the lead single “Wasted On You”.

It was then followed up by “The Game Is Over” and “Use My Voice”, with the latter being initially planned as the lead single but replaced after the spread of COVID-19.

“Yeah Right” was the next to follow as a promotional single, on the day where the album’s tracklist and release date were announced.

The album’s release was then followed by the release of their latest official single “Better Without You”.

The track was written by all members of the band (Amy Lee, Jen Majura, Troy McLawhorn, Tim McCord, and Will Hunt) alongside Nick Raskulinecz, who also produced it as well as the rest of the songs on the album.

Talking about the song, frontwoman Amy Lee stated:

“This song is about my journey, and some of what I had to overcome to get where I am, and where our band is today. I’ve fought many battles for myself and my music which are very intertwined (some of them internal). Each verse is for a different obstacle along the way, starting in the past and ending in the present. There are parts of my story you don’t know unless you know me, and yes, verse 2 is for some of my experiences in the industry, but don’t get it twisted- this is deeper and darker than that. Obviously, I still have some things from way back to get off my chest. I hope it serves to empower others who have been made to feel powerless. Don’t let the voices telling you you’re not good enough live in your head. Don’t let them write your story. Don’t ever let fear stop you from being who you were born to be. That fear… I am. We are. Better without you.”

The accompanying music video to the song made its premiere today and was directed by Eric D. Howell, with whom they previously worked on the video for “Use My Voice” and Amy’s solo release “Speak To Me” from the movie “Voice from the Stone”.

An epic video for an epic song, in true Evanescence style.
